Truong Tran, Managing Partner
Truong has more than 12 years’ experience in corporate finance and business consulting, notably transaction advisory , market entry and international taxation in Vietnam.
At Openasia Consulting, he advised several European MNCs on market studies and market entry strategies and support including partner identification and business matching.
More previously, as an Investment Manager at Saigon Capital, Truong was responsible for sourcing and executing private equity investments with SMEs and working with global investors (based in Hong Kong, Singapore) to track and report on the investments.
Before that, he worked for M&A International Inc. (among world’s leading mid-market M&A advisers) and Grant Thornton (an international Big 5 accounting & consulting firm), where he built valuable skills in business valuation, due diligence, capital markets advisory, and managed cross-border M&A transactions.
Truong holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Solvay Business School (Belgium) and a B.A in International Business from Foreign Trade University (Hanoi, Vietnam).
Hao has spent 15 years in audit, accounting, and finance, including 3 years with Deloitte Vietnam, one of the Big Four, as an audit senior and subsequently 3 years at FPT, a local corporate giant as an accounting manager in charge of accounts consolidation.
Hao has worked intensively, as a section head, a team leader or an auditor-in-charge, with high profile clients including big foreign-owned companies, multinational groups, state-owned corporations, such as Vietnam Deawoo Motor, LG Vina, Chinfon Haiphong Cement, Daewoo Hanel Electronics, Metropole Hotel, Vietcombank Tower, Petro Vietnam, Electricity Vietnam (EVN).
Hao holds an M.Sc in Accounting from Monash University, Australia and previously a B.Sc in Finance from the National Academy of Finance, Hanoi.
Phuong Do, Partner cum Attorney at Law
Phuong has intensive professional experience of legal practice in Vietnam. Her practice areas mainly cover Corporate, M&A, Foreign Direct Investment, Banking, and Real Estate. She has worked as an Associate at Mayer Brown JSM (Vietnam), Senior Associate at Audier & Partners (Vietnam), and Chief Legal Counsel at ANZ Bank Vietnam.
Phuong has participated in the assistance to set up foreign-invested companies (wholly foreign-owned and joint ventures), drafting the company charter and joint venture agreement. She has also been involved in advising on and preparation of the legal documents for international bond issues of Vietname Government, two State-owned corporations (corporate bonds) and various other financing arrangements, valued at millions of US dollars.
Phuong is a member of Ho Chi Minh Bar Association (Vietnam) and Tennessee Bar Association (US). She holds a Juris Doctor’s degree from Handong Global University, and an B.A in International Business from Foreign Trade University (Ho Chi Minh City).
Hoang has accumulated above 5 years’ valuable experience in Business Analytics (notably in Tech Startups), Venture Valuation, Business Model, Market Research, Strategic Planning, and Financial Modeling. He worked at an American venture capital firm, where he was to work with several local tech start-up (app development) ventures such as Kidzbot (Children Education), Airhub (Flight ticket services), Menus (Restaurant services). Previously Hoang gained meaningful experience in entities setup and numernous other supports for foreign clients during his tenure a local boutique consulting firm.
Hoang holds an M.Sc in Investment from Birmingham University (UK), and a S.C in Finance and Banking from the Ho Chi Minh City Marketing-Finance University.
